"Grapes" Original Watercolor Painting

Grapes were included in the Wisconsin Food Forest book as there are 4 species of grapes that are native to Wisconsin. I wanted to highlight the dramatic shadows of the grapes and leaves. If you look closely, you’ll notice multiple colors in the shadows- blues, purples, and even yellows. The light shining through the slightly transparent grapes creates shadows that also contain the grapes’ colors. Adding those little details into my watercolor painting helps to bring color and character to each painting.
This original watercolor painting is featured in the book, “Just One Comfrey”, a Counting book by Wisconsin Food Forests. The book is scheduled to be released July, 2025. It features edible plants that grow well in Wisconsin’s climate. Some are edible for human consumption, while others are edible only for critters and birds that call Wisconsin home.
This original watercolor painting was painting using Daniel Smith watercolors on Arches cold-pressed paper. Using professional supplies means your painting will stay brilliant and colorful for years. It also comes signed, with a Certificate of Authenticity. It is matted and framed. (Dark gray frame with a white double mat, glass, with hanging wire for easy hanging).
***Framed pieces will only be available for local pickup. If you need this painting mailed to you, it will come un-framed, but still custom matted. ***
