These asparagus are actually from Whole Foods! I needed a reference photo of asparagus and decided to go and buy some and take some pictures before I cooked them up for dinner. I love how the purple tips of the asparagus matches the deep purple of the mat. Although they look very simple, these asparagus were painted section by section to ensure sharp edges and beautiful colors. It would be a great addition to any kitchen or farmhouse.
This original watercolor painting is featured in the book, “Just One Comfrey”, a Counting book by Wisconsin Food Forests.The book is scheduled to be released July, 2025.It features edible plants that grow well in Wisconsin’s climate.Some are edible for human consumption, while others are edible only for critters and birds that call Wisconsin home.
